North East Florida has more farmers markets to offer than just the ones surrounding the beach area. Two great farmers markets Jacksonville offers are the Riverside Arts Market, otherwise known as RAM, and the Orange Park Farmers and Arts Market. Both of these markets offer a wide variety of vendors, ranging from farmers to artist to food truck vendors!
Riverside Arts market is celebrating their 9-year anniversary in March! I would say if a farmers market can stay open for 9 years, they must be doing something right. RAM is very much a green marketplace, supporting healthy lifestyles and a strong environmental consciousness. The farmers are local, and only sell their own grown, seasonal produce. In addition, RAM is SNAP and EBT eligible. A list of vendors and weekly produce can be found on the RAM website.
- When: Saturday from 10 a.m. –3 p.m.
- Where: 715 Riverside Ave., Under the Fuller Warren Bridge
Orange Park Farmers and Arts Market won the 2016 Bold City Best Award for Best Farmers Market! The Market is held monthly and occasionally has themed days such as “Bark Fest @ the Orange Park Market.” Although the market only runs once a month, the town holds several events throughout the year at the same park. Many of the market vendors, including farmers, participate in these other events such as Kids Fest in June and Fall Festival in October. Orange Park Farmers and Arts Market requires their arts to be handmade, and their farmers grow at least 50% of their produce, animals, etc. Unfortunately, the market is not SNAP or EBT eligible. If you want to visit the Orange Park Farmers’ and Arts Market:
- When: First Sunday of each month from 10am-3pm (September-June)
- Where: Town Hall Park, 2042 Park AVE Orange Park, FL 32073 (Corner of Kingsley & US17)
If you are looking to get your grocery shopping done, get outside, and have a fun time with friends and family, go check out these farmers’ and arts markets!
